Details
The Cosmos Hotel is located in one of the most beautiful and ecologically clean districts of Moscow. The hotel provides a wonderful view of the Botanical Gardens and the National nature reserve "Lossiny Ostrov". Conveniently located next to the All-Russian Exhibition Center (ex-VDNH) and only a 10 minute ride from the city center it is great value. The construction of the Hotel Complex Cosmos was intended for servicing the 1980 Moscow Olimpics. The architectural image of the building facing the VDNKh park was designed by Soviet and French architects. The hotel was officially opened to customers on July 20, 1979. Many prominent politicians, business men and show biz personalities took part in the opening festivities. During its 20 years of operation the hotel has seen numerous famous people, among them the French singer Joe Dassin, the Russian variety star Alla Pougacheva, the Olimpic champion Garri Kasparov.
